Appointed as special counsel for the “Peoples Commission, constituted by “Committee for Disappearances in Punjab” which comprised of a retired Supreme Court of India Judge, Justice Kuldip Singh and three other Hon’ble retired Judges of High Court Justice D.S.Tiwatia, Justice Suresh, Justice Jaspal Singh and represented the cases of Human Rights violation relating to Punjab of the period 1984 to 1994.

After registering as a “Foreign Legal Consultant”, with Law Society of British Columbia, worked in Association with Kang Abrahams Chahal, Barristers and Solicitors, Vancouver, Canada, from September 2001 till March 2002.

Worked on the team of Defence lawyers of AIR INDIA CRASH trial in Vancouver, Canada from August 2001 till March 2002 as an Indian Lawyer.

Represented victims in nearly 2000 cases relating to detenus detained under the provisions of National Security Act and Terrorist & Disruptive Activities Prevention Act of India. Also appeared in matters relating Habeas Corpus Petitions, including petitions on matters relating to custodial violence, illegal detentions, extra judicial Executions. Also filed petitions in which compensations were sought for victims of State repression.

In 1995, appeared and accepted as an expert witness on Indian Laws & Human Rights in an Extradition hearing of an Indian in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Canada. Also appeared and accepted as an Expert Witness on Human Rights situation in India and particularly in Punjab before Immigration and Refugee Board at Vancouver in Canada in the same year.

In June 1997 appeared and accepted as an Expert Witness on Human Rights situation in India and Punjab in a case relating to Immigration and Refugee Board of the State of San Francisco, U.S.A.

In June 1998 appeared and accepted as an Expert Witness on Human Rights before a special court in Toronto, Canada, in a case of Security proceedings.

In December 1998 and April 1999, appeared and accepted as an Expert Witness on Human Rights and Indian Laws before Immigration and Refugee Board of the State of Virginia, U.S.A.

Then on 15th February 2000, appeared in a Refugee Court of the State of Baltimore, U.S.A. and was accepted as an Expert Witness on Human Rights situation in Punjab.

In the month of June 2000, appeared before “Special Immigration Appeals Commission” in United Kingdom and accepted as an expert witness on the issue of Human Rights Violations qua Sikhs, who are claiming their separate Home Land in India.( re matter of Paramjit Singh and Mukhtiar Singh )

On 2nd Feb 2001, appeared as an expert witness before District Courts of Fresno, California in a case relating to Extradition hearing of Kulbir Singh Barapind.

On 16th April 2014, appeared as an expert witness before Westminster Magistrate, London, U.K in an extradition hearing of an Indian namely Rajesh Kapoor who is sought to be extradited by India on grounds of kidnapping a minor from India.
